Festival of Lights

La Roche College, the Sisters of Divine Providence and Providence Heights Alpha School will hold their annual Festival of Lights from 3 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7 on the college and motherhous­e grounds in McCandless. The event will feature a craft show, musical and dance performanc­es, children’s activities, etc., concluding with fireworks. The event is free and open to the public. Civil War music program

The Acoustic Shadows of the Blue and Gray will perform a program of Civil War-era music in period dress at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Peters Township Public Library, located at 616 East McMurray Road, McMurray. Holiday musical celebratio­n

Symphony Brass performanc­e

The Pittsburgh Symphony Brass will perform in the next program of the Music Plus concert series presented by St. James parish in Sewickley, “A Christmas Concert: Music for McGuire,” will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the church, located at 200 Walnut St. Free, but donations will be accepted to benefit McGuire Memorial Home in New Brighton, which serves individual­s with severe disabiliti­es.
