Sharing Hearts Gala
When and where: Saturday night at the Duquesne University Power Center Ballroom, Uptown.
#SharingHearts: It’s the season of giving and a perfect time to support wonderful causes like Zachary’s Mission (zacharysmission.org), an organization that supports families of medically fragile children by providing basic needs, financial assistance and programs that build community during difficult stays in the hospital and beyond. “People don’t realize how expensive it is when you have a child in the hospital long term,” said co-founder Patricia Vince. “We provide things like parking vouchers, gas cards, help with utility bills and more. There’s a lack of normalcy during this time and we try to help families by taking their minds off of the financial burden so that they can focus on what is most important — their family.” The eighth annual Sharing Hearts Gala honored Roxanne and Walt Vinoski, owners of Vinoski Winery, who donated their reserve to the party and have supported the organization for many years. “Patty’s enthusiasm rubbed off on us and we wanted to help in any way that we could,” said Mr. Vinoski. “This is Pittsburgh in a nutshell,” added Patrik McCain with wife Danielle, co-founders of Jameson’s Army, an organization that frequently partners with Zachary’s Mission. “Seeing all of these people come together in a collaborative spirit to help those in need is what we love about this city so much.”
