Chiefs reportedly host WR Benjamin

-

The Kansas City Chiefs have been without wide receiver Sammy Watkins for the better part of three games. Receiver Tyreek Hill had his worst game of the season Sunday in Oakland.

With that backdrop, the Chiefs reportedly hosted former Buffalo Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin Thursday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the visit; Benjamin also appeared in a photo supposedly taken at Kansas City International Airport, too.

A 6-foot-5, 245-pound former Florida State standout, Benjamin started 15 games and registered 73 catches for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie for the Panthers in 2014. He spent the 2015 season on IR with a torn ACL. The Panthers traded him to the Bills in 2017 for a pair of 2018 picks. This season, Benjamin has caught 23 passes. He logged 354 yards in 12 games. The Bills released him Tuesday and he cleared waivers.

While Patrick Mahomes continues at a historic pace — he notched 4,000 passing yards faster than any quarterback in NFL history — the final month of the regular season includes the league’s top defensive team in the Ravens, the Los Angeles Chargers, one game behind in the AFC West, and a road game against Seattle.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid was not due to speak with reporters again until Friday.

Watkins participated on a limited basis during Thursday’s practice due to a foot injury that has hampered him since the game in Cleveland on Nov. 4. He was inactive against the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 11 and played five snaps against the Los Angeles Rams before Thanksgiving. He was inactive against the Raiders.

All-Pro safety Eric Berry, who returned to practice last week for the first time since training camp in August, also participated on a limited basis on Thursday.

She is standing by her latest claims of domestic violence, accusations that led to his arrest. “I did what I had to do for the person I love,” Ennis told “Good Morning America” Thursday morning. Foster was arrested Nov. 24 at a team hotel in Tampa Bay, Fla. after Ennis accused him of abuse. The 49ers released Foster the next day. Washington claimed him off waivers on Nov. 27.
