FISHING REPORT

-

Lake Erie and tributaries (Erie County): Creeks that were blown out Monday were low and clear Thursday, but steelhead and brown trout were caught on both sides of the peninsula. Skein, egg sacks and single eggs were the hot baits, and fly anglers had hookups with egg and nymph patterns and Wooly Buggers. Anglers willing to walk beyond the parking spaces and fish pocket water and undercuts did the best. When the wind and waves let up lake trout were taken off The Mountain near North East using spoons. Despite dropping temperatures no skim ice was reported. Clouds were expected to stop snowing Friday with temperatures holding in the 20s through the weekend.

Tionesta Reservoir (Forest County): Boaters trolling the shorelines picked up muskellunge. On the upper end, anglers casting off the Nebraska bridge caught crappies, yellow perch and bluegill. Tionesta Creek (Forest County): Muskies, northern pike and walleye were caught on the western side of the lake outflow.

Allegheny River (Clarion County): Muskies were caught near the mouths of the big tributaries. Northerns, smallmouths and walleye were taken from Emlenton to Parker.

Clarion River (Clarion County): Anglers reported the entire river was hot with active smallmouths and walleye.

Lake Arthur (Butler County): Muskies were caught in waters throughout the lake on medium crankbaits. Largemouths went for stick baits, and a lot of yellow perch were caught near the launches on live minnows. Bradys Run Lake (Butler County): The state is expected to stock rainbow trout Dec. 12. They could use a little help around 1 p.m. near the boat launch.

Raccoon Lake (Beaver County): A few trout went for paste baits near the dam. Neshannock Creek (Lawrence County): Good-size trout took spinners in a variety of colors and Wooly Buggers fished just under the surface in the Keystone Select Waters area.

Deer Lakes (Allegheny County): A few trout were caught on paste baits. Allegheny River (Allegheny County): Despite high water, anglers took smallmouths and walleye using live minnows at creek mouths around dusk.

Fishing Report will be on vacation through December.
