Highlights from major construction projects around Pittsburgh and surrounding areas this week
1. Fort Pitt Tunnel: Overnight closings starting at 10. Monday and Tuesday outbound; Wednesday and Thursday inbound.
2. McArdle Roadway/ Mount Washington: Closed from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for maintenance.
3. Boulevard of the Allies/ Uptown/Oakland: Northbound lane closure between Miltenberger and Marion streets and southbound between Marion and Van Braam Street near UPMC Mercy Hospital through mid-January. Single-lane restrictions will occur on Forbes Avenue and Brady Street to allow crews to conduct inspection activities at the Boulevard of the Allies bridges and ramps at the Birmingham Bridge. Restrictions will occur weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Dec. 21
4. Parkway North/Interstate 279: Daytime shoulder restrictions for sign work possible.
5. Forbes Avenue/Oakland: Paving as part of extensive redesign and repairs.
6. Route 837/Whitaker/ West Mifflin: Single-lane restrictions in the area leading to the Rankin Bridge for a project to last through late December.
7. Parkway East/Interstate 376: Overnight lane restrictions Monday through Thursday in both directions between the Fort Pitt Bridge and Squirrel Hill Tunnel. Closed inbound round the clock Dec. 26 through Dec. 30 between the Boulevard of the Allies and Grant Street.
8. Fleming Park Bridge/ Neville, Stowe: Closed through the end of June 2019. Detour uses Route 51, I-79 and Grand Avenue.
9. Route 50/South Fayette, Cecil: Single-lane restriction between Route 978 and Reissing Road through late April.
10. Hunter Road/Penn Hills: Closed between Barger Street and Hamil Road Tuesday through late January for slide remediation. 11. Steuben Street Bridge/West End: Through Dec. 17, the bridge to southbound Route 19 at the West End Circle is closed.
