U.S. team rebounds, shuts out Spain

Christen Press scored in the 53rd minute and the U.S. national team rebounded from a rare loss with a 1-0 victory Tuesday against Spain in Alicante.

The United States was coming off a 3-1 loss Saturday to France that snapped a 28-match unbeaten streak.

U.S. goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher earned her 22nd career shutout.

• American Family Insurance purchased naming rights to Milwaukee’s Miller Park beginning in 2021. MillerCoor­s paid $41.2 million for the original naming rights.

• Asdrubal Cabrera agreed to a $3.5 million, oneyear contract with Texas and will replace the retired Adrian Beltre at third base.

The Kansas City Chiefs fired defensive coordinato­r Bob Sutton, 67, two days after losing to the New England Patriots, 37-31, in overtime in the AFC championsh­ip game. He was defensive coordinato­r since 2013.

• McKees Rocks native Tom Clements, 65, was hired as passing game coordinato­r/quarterbac­ks coach by the Arizona Cardinals.

Jeffrey David, a former top Sacramento Kings executive, pleaded guilty to siphoning $13.4 million from the team to buy Southern California beachfront properties.

• Point guard Dennis Smith returned to the Dallas Mavericks after a week away amid trade rumors.

• Liz Cambage, 27, who finished second behind Breanna Stewart as WNBA MVP, asked the Dallas Wings for trade.
