PATRIOTS DAY

-

Tom Brady holds the Lombardi Trophy aloft as the Patriots paraded through Boston Tuesday in honor of their sixth title.

The Steelers named former Patriots offensive lineman Adrian Klemm as their new assistant offensive line coach Tuesday.

Klemm will assist new offensive line coach Shaun Sarrett, who took over last month for Mike Munchak, who is now on the Denver Broncos’ coaching staff.

Klemm most recently was the associate head coach/run game coordinator at UCLA from 2012-16. He previously served as an assistant coach at SMU from 2008-11.

Klemm played at the University of Hawaii and was the No. 46 overall pick of the Patriots in 2000, the same year they drafted quarterback Tom Brady in the sixth round.

Klemm played for the Patriots for five seasons from 2000-04 and earned three Super Bowl rings. He finished his NFL career with the Packers.

Patriots

Hundreds of thousands of jubilant fans jammed downtown Boston for a parade celebrating the New England Patriots’ sixth Super Bowl title, clamoring for more with cheers of “We want seven!” and “Next year, right here!” Fans clad in team garb packed sidewalks in mild weather and stood on tiptoe for a glimpse of Brady, coach Bill Belichick and the rest of the team. “Getting to see Tom Brady again is always a special day, but the Patriots are amazing. Six-time champs,” fan Lauren Mills said. Her message to Brady: “Go for No. 7. He still has how many fingers left? You know, four more rings to go.” Fresh from Sunday’s 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl in Atlanta, team members and their families took a 2-mile swing through the city. Players and team owner Robert Kraft took turns holding aloft the Lombardi Trophy. Belichick and his partner, Linda Holliday, beamed, and the storied coach doffed his cap. Star tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has talked about retiring after this latest NFL title, whooped it up with his brothers and father.

Bengals

The Bengals liked Zac Taylor the first time they talked to him, but there was one overriding concern when they discussed offering him their head coaching job. He’s 35 with only a few games as a coordinator on his NFL resume. Would it be too much, too soon, to make him a head coach? Taylor convinced them during two meetings, and the Bengals introduced him as their 10th head coach Tuesday.
