Steelers receiver Antonio Brown is accused of shoving the mother of one of his children after she dropped off their child at his house, according to an incident report released Wednesday by police in Florida.

On Jan. 17, Wiltrice Davay Jackson, 30, of Miami Gardens, told the Hollywood Police Department that she went to drop off their daughter at Brown’s residence and wanted to be reimbursed for a hair appointment. Brown opened the door and let his daughter inside, but Jackson was not allowed to enter.

Jackson returned to the front door and yelled for Brown, asking for her money. When Brown reopened the door, Jackson positioned her body in the doorway so Brown could not close the door. Brown told Jackson she was not allowed on his property and pushed her to the ground with both hands, the report stated.

Jackson told police she injured her wrist in the fall and that their daughter witnessed the episode. Jackson did not go to the police that day. She went to the police station the next day and showed an officer some scabbing where she was injured.

Jackson told police she took her daughter back after she was pushed to the ground and left for her mother’s house.

When a crime scene tech arrived to take photos of Jackson’s arm, she refused to press charges against Brown. When she was informed Brown could be arrested for battery if probable cause was found she “became irate” and asked that her report be withdrawn. She was told the report would be filed, was given a case number, a domestic violence brochure and information on how to file for a restraining order.

A league spokesman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Wednesday that the league is aware of the incident and is investigating.

Brown’s attorney, Darren Heitner, released the following statement Wednesday:

“The closed police report proves that Antonio Brown did absolutely nothing wrong, as insinuated by the recent headlines. Unfortunately, the media alluded wrongdoing on the part of my client in a “domestic dispute” when in fact no wrongdoing ever occurred on his part. The complainant, who is the mother of Mr. Brown’s child, acknowledged that she refused to leave Mr. Brown’s property after being asked and further refused to leave the doorway of his personal residence. The complainant did not want to provide a statement or press charges, and asked to retract her report after it was made.

“The media must be held to a higher standard and should issue an apology to my client for harming his reputation without cause and without full report in their possession. Additionally, the complainant unnecessarily involved my client’s minor child in her false reporting, causing irreparable harm to a minor child. Therefore, Antonio Brown’s family law attorney, Jaclyn Soroka, Esq. will be filing an action with the Court today seeking full legal custody of his child accordingly.”

The Steelers have been seeking trade offers for Brown since the 2018 season ended, but this latest incident complicates those discussions.
