“Arctic”: Survival thriller stars Mads Mikkelsen as a man stranded in the Arctic after an airplane crash forced to decide whether to remain in his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek. Rotten Tomatoes: 89% fresh. “Dragged Across Concrete”: Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn play police detectives who descend into the criminal underworld after a video of their strong-arm tactics leads to their suspension. The Dream Syndicate, “These Times”:

Frontman Steve Wynn says the second album of new music from the California Paisley Undergroun­d band since it reformed in 2012 was influenced by hip-hop producer J Dilla. L7, “Scatter the Rats”: First album in 20 years from the LA grunge pioneers comes out on Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records.
