Highlights from major construction projects around Pittsburgh and surrounding areas this week
1. Homestead-Duquesne Road/West Mifflin:
Short traffic stoppages 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through the end of August between Homeville Road and Grant Avenue.
2. West Carson Street:
Overnight single-lane restrictions as needed between the Smithfield Street and Fort Pitt bridges through late June. Also, pedestrian improvements on East Carson Street.
3. Crosstown Boulevard/ Uptown:
Ramp carrying Crosstown Boulevard to outbound Boulevard of the Allies reduced to a single lane with no truck traffic continuously through late June.
4. Parkway North/Interstate 279:
The High Occupancy Vehicle lanes are closed through mid-June. Single-lane restriction southbound between the Camp Horne Road (Exit 8) and Perrysville Avenue (Exit 5) interchanges weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through mid-June.
5. Parkway East/Interstate 376:
Reduced to a single lane in each direction in various locations between the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Squirrel Hill Tunnel from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday.
6. Fleming Park Bridge/ Neville, Stowe:
Expected to be closed through late August.
7. Grant Street/Downtown:
Single lane in each direction in the section near Liberty Avenue.
8. Rachel Carson (Ninth Street) Bridge/Downtown:
Closed through summer 2020 for rehabilitation.
9. Gill Hall Road/Jefferson Hills:
Replacement work on Gill Hall Road Bridge over Peters Creek near the intersection with Piney Fork Road will close to traffic continuously through late August. All traffic will be detoured.
10. Lewis Run Road/West Mifflin:
Lane restrictions 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Timothy Drive and New England Road through early July.
11. Washington Pike/ South Fayette:
Single-lane alternating traffic as needed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through early August between Boyce Road and Empire Drive.
12. Route 28/East General Robinson Street/North Side:
Two of the three northbound lanes closed continuously between Anderson Street and the ramp from northbound I-279 through mid-June. River Avenue is closed at the intersection with East General Robinson. Singlelane restrictions under the 31st Street and 40th Street bridges 6 a.m. to noon Saturdays and Sundays through the end of June.
13. Station Street/North Fayette:
Closed between Noblestown Road and McNary Street through the end of the year.
14. Butler Street Bridge/ Etna:
Single-lane restrictions on the bridge between Kittanning and Maplewood streets through mid-June.
15. Route 22/Monroeville:
Single-lane overnight restrictions between Route 48 and the Westmoreland line through late May.
16. Route 28/Allegheny Valley:
Single-lane restrictions during daylight off-peak and overnight hours in East Deer, Harrison, Tarentum and Brackenridge through late May. Also weekend lane restrictions as needed. Single-lane, alternating traffic on the Butler Logan Road bridge over Route 28 in Frazer through late September.
17. Elizabeth Bridge:
Reduced to a single lane in each direction through the fall.
18. Routes 50 and 60/ West End:
Single-lane alternating traffic on Route 60 between Sanctus and Weaver streets daily through late June. Singlelane alternating traffic on Route 50 between Poplar Street and Route 60 through the end of May.
19: Mt. Nebo Road/Nicholson Road/Ohio Township:
Traffic shifted and placed in 11foot-lanes through June.
20. River Road/ McKeesport:
Single-lane alternating traffic 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays through early July between the Hamilton railroad crossing and Rebecca Street.
21: Rochester Road/Ross/ McCandless/Franklin Park:
Single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers between Route 19 and Nicholson Road 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday through June 30.
22: Lowries Run Road/Ohio Township/Ross:
Single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers between I-279 and Rochester Road 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday through June 30.
23: Forbes Avenue/Oakland:
A single-lane restriction will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday between Bigelow Boulevard and South Bellefield Avenue. Single-lane restriction at the Brady Street intersection 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights through mid-November. Weekend work possible. Also overnight work as needed on Brady at Forbes and at Second Avenue.
24. I-579 Veterans Bridge/ Downtown:
Single-lane restrictions will occur from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the following locations: Southbound I-579 Veterans Bridge and Southbound approach from the Veterans Bridge to Seventh Avenue.
25. Sewickley Bridge/ Moon/Sewickley:
Single-lane alternating traffic will begin on Monday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays through May 29. No work will occur over the Memorial Day holiday.
