Associatio­n picnic

The William Penn Associatio­n will hold a picnic from noon to 4: 30 p. m. Aug. 24 at the Pittsburgh Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar. The menu will include sausage, cabbage and noodles, and picnic favorites. Pastries and other baked goods will be available for purchase. George Batyi & His Ensemble will provide music. Aquatic life hike

A ranger- led hike focusing on the aquatic life at South Park’s Catfish Run will be held on Aug. 7. Hikers will meet at 2 p. m. at the park’s Grant Grove. Art show reception

The opening reception for the 40th annual members show of the East Suburban Artists League will be held from 5 to 7 p. m. Aug. 10 at the Boyce Campus of Community College of Allegheny County, 595 Beatty Road, Monroevill­e. Computer workshop

Aug. 7 is the deadline to register for “Computer Workshop 6.0” to be presented at the Coraopolis Memorial Library. The workshop will take place from 3: 30 to 4: 30 p. m.
