# SEEN: Superior Motors Private Dinner

-

Superior Motors restaurant and barebones black box debuted their new event space initiative on Tuesday night to an exclusive invitationonly party with just 50 lucky guests. The restaurant that Time Magazine named one of the “World’s Greatest Places” and the critically acclaimed theater are opening up their doors to party planners, weddings, corporate functions and more.

The spaces include Superior Motors’ main dining room, named Magerac, a private dining space with a view of the Edgar Thomson Steel Works, an outdoor patio space with fire pits and a new speakeasy concept that can also double as a Chef’s Table for 10 guests. Guests noshed on chef Kevin Sousa’s tasty poke bowls, and the chic waitstaff passed delectable bites piled high with shrimp and herbs while Selecta spinned inside the restaurant. Thommy Conroy’s magic could be seen throughout in the form of feathery summer arrangements, dramatic urns of baby’s breath and banquet setups that were a feast for the senses. The speakeasy, which admitted only eight guests at a time, was glowing with candlelight while featuring two secret cocktails. The barebones black box is a prime performance space, and, as Mr. Conroy and barebones’ artistic director Patrick Jordan Brittany Spinelli photos demonstrated on Tuesday, can easily double as a banquet, meeting and killer cocktail party venue. The space also featured a version of the Pittsburgh cookie table that had to be seen to be believed. Inside of the theater, Kelsey Jumper’s band Geneva rocked inventive sets, and as guests headed outside they were greeted by the Salsamba Latin Jazz Group. The patio was lively with Mr. Sousa at the oven slinging Korean BBQ- inspired pizzas.
