Pitt says arrivederci to Italian trip with win

-

Pitt coach Jeff Capel’s team went to Italy with the goals of bonding and getting better as a basketball team. They should be coming home satisfied.

In the third and final game of their Italian Tour, Pitt overwhelmed the Vicenza All- Stars, 104- 41, in Venice.

Six Panthers scored in double figures as they shot 52 percent from the field. Transfer Ryan Murphy, arguably Pitt’s most consistent player so far, scored a game- high 21 points ( five 3- pointers) and was named the player of the game.

After leading by six after the first quarter, Pitt pulled away in the second with a 27- 11 run. Pitt held Vicenza to just 14 points in the second half.
