THURSDAY Woodstock party

The Senator John Heinz History Center in the Strip District will be feeling groovy for Woodstock Night, a cocktail party celebratin­g the 50th anniversar­y of the iconic festival in Bethel, N. Y.

There will be specialty cocktails courtesy of Wigle Whiskey, ’ 60s- era snacks, a T- shirt tie- dye station and Woodstock- era music courtesy of DJ Stephanie Tsong.

Guests can visit “The Vietnam War: 1945- 1975” exhibition, talk to a local Vietnam War protestor inside the exhibit, and create a protest button.

It begins at 6 p. m. Tickets are $ 20 for adults ages 18 and older. There will also be a Woodstock Kids Zone recommende­d for ages 6- 12 with pizza, a tie- dye station, screen printing, music and more. $ 10 for kids; heinzhisto­rycenter.org/ events.

Trapology

Trapology 3: The Trivia Game, hosted by the duo # TheGoodGuy­s bka Straight To The League, is back at the Ace Hotel, for another round. Eight teams compete while answering questions about southern hiphop music, trends, social commentary and more, with one team earning the Trapology championsh­ip trophy and other prizes.

FRIDAY Knotfest Roadshow

Three years after its set here was wiped out by a power failure, Slipknot returns to KeyBank Pavilion, Burgettsto­wn, on its Knotfest Roadshow tour.

The first Slipknot tour since 2016 coincides with the 20th anniversar­y of the masked nu metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, releasing its self- titled debut album and turning up that summer on Ozzfest.

Slipknot pulls in having just released sixth album, “We Are Not Your Kind,” deemed by Consequenc­e of Sound to be “one of the strongest albums in their career.”

They get some hefty backup from Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth, beginning at 5: 30 p. m. Tickets start at $ 39.50; ticketmast­er. com.

SATURDAY Square Run

Run Around the Square is a lovely day in Regent Square with 1.5- mile fun run/ walk and 5K run through Fern Hollow, Frick Park, with musicians playing along the course.

The 1.5- miler start sat 8:15 a.m. starts at the Environmen­tal Charter School at the corner of Henrietta and Milton and winds through Regent Square streets and Frick Park’s cross- country trails, ending in Fern Hollow. The 5 K, at 9 a.m. also does streets and trails.

The musicians along the route include Lee Robinson, Kenny Powell, Matthew Riddle, Caribbean Vibes, Bow and Ivory Duo, Besame, John Esposito, Shadyside Brass, The New Mingle, Chuck Beatty, Tim Vitullo Band, Matt Aquiline, and Laurie Kudis.

Registrati­on is $ 25 for the 5K; $ 20 for the 1.5 mile. Dogs may be registered for the 1.5 mile for an extra $5; run around the square. com.

Country Chrises

Chris Young, the Tennessee singer who came to fame in 2006 when he won the TV competitio­n “Nashville Star,” brings his Raised on Country Tour to Keybank Pavilion.

The singer, known for his deep baritone vocals, has scored country hits with “Gettin’ You Home ( The Black Dress Song),” “The Man I Want to Be,” “I’m Comin’ Over” and more, while also winning CMAs and gaining membership to the Grand Ole Opry.

He’s joined by one of the mainstream’s best country- rockers in Chris

Janson, who wrote “Truck Yeah” for Tim McGraw and hit the top 10 with “Buy Me a Boat,” “Fix a Drink” and “Drunk Girl.”

SATURDAY- SUNDAY Rock ’ n’ reggae

Rock, Reggae & Relief presents nine bands over two days on Forbes Avenue, Downtown, with proceeds going to cancer research through the Piatt Family Foundation.

The Saturday lineup is headlined by singer- songwriter Gavin DeGraw, who broke out in 2004 with the hit “I Don’t Want to Be” and followed that with “Chariot,” “In Love with a Girl” and “Not Over You.” Also on that bill are The Expendable­s, Roots of Creation ( doing a Grateful Dub set), Ghost Hounds and Ras Prophet.

On Sunday, it’s reggae- rock legends Michael Franti & Spearhead, who brings songs like “Say Hey,” “The Sound of Sunshine” and “Hey, Hey, Hey” to the party. The warmup comes from Los- Angelesbas­ed reggae- pop quartet Magic! (“Rude”), Roots of Creation and The Flow Band.

It’s presented in honor of Julie Guss, a festival supporter and advocate of RRR and real estate agent with Piatt Sotheby’s Internatio­nal Realty. Both days begin at 2 p. m. Tickets are $ 39.95 each day; $ 65 for two- day pass; $ 15 kids; VIP tickets also available; rockreggae­relie.

Shadyside fest

This will be the 23rd year for Shadyside

... Art Festival on Walnut Street, which moved into the neighborho­od, replacing the festival that began as a hippie gathering in 1970.

Presented by the Florida- based Howard Alan Events, the two- day upscale street fair will play host to 140 painters, potters, jewelers, photograph­ers and more.

Hours are 10 a. m. to 7 p. m. Saturday and 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Sunday. Admission is free; artfestiva­l. com.

SATURDAY- SUNDAY Celtic Renaissanc­e

Celtic Fling! — the second weekend of the Pittsburgh Renaissanc­e Festival — will feature the traditiona­l sounds of Celtic musicians, Scottish pipe bands and madrigal singers ringing out through the Realm.

The Men in Kilts Contest is at 2:30 p.m. at the Greek Stage, and the “Think You Can Jig” Dance Contest is 4:30 p.m. at the Rose Stage.

The festival, which runs through Sept. 22, replicates 16th- century life with combat jousting, games of skill, rides, period foods and an artisans marketplac­e.

SUNDAY Pedal Pgh

The 26th annual Pedal Pittsburgh takes over the streets Sunday offering riders four different routes.

There is the car- free 10- mile Peoples Local Loop on flat riverfront trails ( 10 a. m.), the 25- mile UPS City Tour crossing bridges and climbing some of the milder hills ( 9 a. m.), the 40- mile Dero Grand Tour Take that climbs to the famous observator­y in Riverview Park ( 8 a. m.), and the 62- mile BikePgh Epic Challenge with 4,000- plus feet of climbing ( 7 a. m.).
