Peters Township (7-1) vs Bethel Park (5-2)

Coaches: T.J. Plack is 28-14 in four seasons at Peters Township. Brian DeLallo is 5-2 in one season at Bethel Park.

Last meeting: Logan Pfeuffer completed 13 of 14 passes for 139 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (three passing, one receiving) to lead Peters Township to a 35-0 home win last Oct. 19. It marked the first time Bethel Park had been shut out since 2014.

History: Peters Township’s win last season ended Bethel Park’s string of seven consecutiv­e wins against the Indians, which had not defeated the Black Hawks since 2010. Bethel Park is 6-1 in its past seven regular-season home games, allowing an average of only 10 points per game.

Last week: Peters Township rebounded from its first loss by beating Chartiers Valley, 43-14. Bethel Park scored two touchdowns in the final 1:28 of regulation to force overtime, but eventually fell to Baldwin, 31-28, in two overtimes.

Quick hits: These two teams, along with Moon, are tied atop the Class 5A Allegheny Eight Conference with one conference loss apiece. … After struggling in a loss to Moon, Pfeuffer bounced back last week by going 19 of 22 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he has thrown for 18 touchdowns to just two intercepti­ons. Eleven of those scoring tosses have gone to wide receiver Josh Casilli. Ryan Magiske is the leading rusher with 869 yards. … Sean McGowan leads Bethel Park in rushing with 624 yards. He ran for 198 yards and three touchdowns last week. McGowan is also the team’s leading receiver. … Peters Township (10 ppg) has the No. 1 scoring defense in Class 5A.

Others to watch

McGuffey at Avonworth, 7 p.m. — Two of the four remaining unbeaten teams in Class 2A get together for this non-conference tilt. Each has won all of its games by double digits. Avonworth has the No. 3 scoring defense in the class.

Brentwood at Burgettsto­wn, 7 p.m. — After going 41 years without a conference title, unbeaten Burgettsto­wn can do it for the second year in a row if it beats one-loss Brentwood. The Blue Devils are 17-1 since the beginning of last season.

Baldwin at Penn Hills, 7 p.m. — Penn Hills has not dropped a game since a season-opening loss to Pine-Richland, while Baldwin comes in red hot. The Highlander­s have won four in a row, including last week’s dramatic victory against Bethel Park.

University Prep vs. Perry, 7 p.m. — This is the second of two City League semifinals this week. At 7-1, University Prep is the heavy championsh­ip favorite. The Panthers beat Perry, 38-20, Sept. 13, outscoring the Commodores, 18-0, in the fourth quarter.
