NEW ON DVD

“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”: Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning reprise their roles in this sequel to the 2014 film, which continues to explore the relationsh­ip between the horned fairy and the soon-to-be Queen.

“Gemini Man”: Ang Lee sci-fi action film, originally conceived in 1997, follows an aging hitman (Will Smith) who is targeted by a younger clone of himself.

“Jexi”: Adam DeVine, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Peña and Rose Byrne star in this comedy about what can happen when you love your phone more than anything else.

AT THE MOVIES

“Bad Boys for Life”: Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back again in this buddy cop action-comedy sequel to “Bad Boys” (1995) and “Bad Boys II” (2003).

“Dolittle”: Robert Downey Jr. plays the eccentric Doctor Dolittle, on a fantasy adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure for the queen. With Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen and an all-star voice cast as the animals.

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY

Mac Miller, “Circles”: First posthumous album from the Pittsburgh rapper, recorded with producer Jon Brion as a companion to 2018’s Grammy-nominated “Swimming.”

Anti-Flag, “20/20 Vision”: Reacting to three years of Trump, expect a fiery album from the veteran Pittsburgh punks.

Halsey, “Manic”: The electropop hitmaker from New Jersey has stated that her third record will in fact be manic and all over the place stylistica­lly.

Marcus King, “El Dorado”: Debut solo album from the Southern rocker, which will focus on his vocals more than guitar, was produced in Nashville by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.

WHAT’S ON TV

“Diary of a Future President” (Friday, Disney+): Told from the narration of her diary, the series follows a 12-year-old Cuban-American middle schooler as she embarks on her quest to become a future president of the United States.

“Little America” (Friday, Apple TV+): Anthology series about funny, romantic, heartfelt stories of immigrants in America executive produced by Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon (“The Big Sick”) and featuring Green Tree native Zachary Quinto.

“Sex Education” (Friday, Netflix): Season 2 of the series about a socially awkward student who sets up a sexual advice clinic at his high school.

“Real Time With Bill Maher” (10 p.m. Friday, HBO): Maher returns for an 18th season with no shortage of topics on the table.

“Avenue 5” (10 p.m. Sunday, HBO): A comedy from the creator of “Veep“set 40 years in the future aboard a space cruise ship starring Hugh Laurie (“House“) and 2003 Carnegie Mellon University grad Josh Gad (“Frozen”).
