Colts get 47th in row . . .

And win comes on very last shot

-

The streak is still alive. Chartiers Valley won its 47th consecutive game, but it wasn’t easy. Thomas Jefferson came closer than any other team to stopping the streak, but a buzzer--beating layup by Perri Page lifted the topranked Colts to a 42-41 win in Class 5A Section 1.

It was quite a comeback for Chartiers Valley (17-0, 10-0) and sophomore Page.

The Colts were clinging to a 40-36 lead with 1:57 remaining when her technical foul led to two free throws by Thomas Jefferson’s Graci Fairman. The Jaguars (11-6, 6-4) took a 41-40 lead with four seconds left when Maddy Trainer’s layup fell through.

Megan McConnell, however, took the ensuing inbounds pass the length of the court before dishing to Page, who finished with 13 points, for the winner.
