Register for nighttime hike

Feb. 7 is the deadline to register for a Guided Nature Night Hike to be held on Feb. 8 in Deer Lakes Park. Participan­ts will meet at Pike Shelter for the hike, which will run from 7 to 9 p.m. The hike is approximat­ely two miles with moderate changes in elevation. Hikers should bring a flashlight. Coin show at Crown Plaza

The South Hills Coin Club will holds its 60th annual coin show Feb. 1-2 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 164 Fort Couch Road (across from South Hills Village), Bethel Park. Hours for the free show are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Representa­tives of numismatic businesses will be in attendance. Welcome Lunar New Year

The Monroevill­e Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd., will hold a Lunar New Year celebratio­n on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. The highlight of the event will be an indoor dragon parade. The celebratio­n will also include crafts and refreshmen­ts. Attendees are encouraged to wear red because the color is a symbol of good luck for the new year. Tips on staying young

Western Allegheny Community Library will present “How to Stay Young for the Next 100 Years” on Feb. 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. in its community room.
