New Fred Rogers Production­s series on PBS slated for 2021

Pittsburgh-based Fred Rogers Production­s, which produces “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborho­od” and “Odd Squad” for PBS Kids, already announced a new puppet series for PBS, “Donkey Hodie,” to premiere in 2021.

Now FRP is seeking a production assistant and lead associate producer for a Pittsburgh-based unscripted music series for children.

In addition, FRP has another new program in the works, an animated series about “a young Latina girl growing up in the Bronx,” per a job posting. FRP spokeswoma­n Suzanne Masri declined to provide more details on the new shows.

Disney+ streaming series “The World According to Jeff Goldblum,” hosted by the West Homestead native, gets a linear airing of two episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Monday on National Geographic Channel. … HBO renewed “My Brilliant Friend” for a third season and “Insecure” for a fifth . ... USA canceled “Dare Me” after one season. … NBC will air “Feeding America Comedy Special” (7-9 p.m. Sunday), a fundraiser for the hunger-relief organizati­on featuring Byron Allen, Wayne Brady, Swissvale native Billy Gardell, Whoopi Goldberg and Tiffany Haddish. … Nicolas Cage will play Joe Exotic in a scripted version of the “Tiger King” story . ... CBS canceled set-in-Pittsburgh sitcom “Man With a Plan” along with “Carol’s Second Act,” “Broke” and “Tommy.”
