Kids Fest online

This weekend would normally have seen flocks of families flooding the streets of the Pittsburgh Cultural District and reveling in the activities of the 34th annual EQT Children’s

Theater Festival.

The festival’s in-person events were wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has a few at-home activities to keep families busy.

For example, The Frog Stop Scavenger Hunt has shifted to things to do while quarantining. Suggestions in the categories of make, listen, learn, move, help and read can be found online at https://pghkids.trustarts.org/ kids/plan-your-visit/frog-stop-scavenger-hunt. Upload photos of at least four of six categories accomplished to https://trustarts.typeform.com/to/RNhRRN and receive a voucher for a treat from The Milkshake Factory.

Here are other at-home activities courtesy of the 2020 Children’s Theater Festival:

The Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute is offering free chess classes at all levels via Zoom. Free, registration required at https:// pghkids.trustarts.org/events/3675.
