“Onward”: Pixar’s new animated adventure finds two teenage elf brothers embarking on a quest to see if there is still some magic left in the world. With voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. Rotten Tomatoes: 88% fresh.

“The Way Back”: Ben Affleck plays an alcoholic former high school basketball star who takes a coaching job at his alma mater. Rotten Tomatoes: 84% fresh.

“Emma”: Anya Taylor-Joy, Johnny Flynn and Josh O’Connor star in this comedydram­a, based on Jane Austen’s 1815 novel, about a young woman who interferes in the love lives of her friends. Rotten Tomatoes: 86% fresh.

“Sonic the Hedgehog”: Sonic, mercifully redesigned after the outrage over the trailer, comes to Earth only to be chased by the government after causing a massive power outage. Rotten Tomatoes: 64% fresh.

“Brahms: The Boy II”: Sequel to 2016 horror film “The Boy” follows the story of a young boy and the porcelain doll that’s part of a dark, haunted history. With Katie Holmes. Rotten Tomatoes: 10% fresh.

Steve Earle & the Dukes, “Ghosts of West Virginia”: The alt-country legend’s 20th studio album explores the historical role of coal in rural communitie­s and centers on the Upper Big Branch coal mine explosion that killed 29 men in that state in 2010.

Indigo Girls, “Look Long”: For their 16th album, the Georgia folk-rock duo worked again with John Reynolds, who produced their 1999 album, “Come on Now Social.” Emily Saliers said of their attitude going in, “We’re still a bar band at heart.”

The 1975, “Notes on a Conditiona­l Form”: Singer Matthew Healy told BBC Radio 1 that the British band’s fourth album, a 22-song collection, was inspired by British nighttime culture.

The Airborne Toxic Event, “Hollywood

Park”: First album in five years from the LA alt-rock band arrives alongside a new literary work of the same name by frontman Mikel Jollett, who chronicles an early childhood and upbringing of poverty and emotional abuse before finding his voice.

“Patton Oswalt: I Love Everything” (now, Netflix): New special from the Emmy- and Grammy-winning comedian has him embracing his 50s, including an anecdote about how attending his daughter’s second grade art show cost him the chance to board a fullscale Millennium Falcon.

“Celebrity Escape Room” (8 p.m. Thursday, WPXI): Kicking off a full night of programmin­g devoted to Red Nose Day, an annual fundraisin­g event to end child poverty, this new one-hour special taps into a current pop culture party phenomenon, in which a group of people work together to successful­ly

escape from a locked room. Host Jack Black “traps” guests Ben Stiller, Adam Scott and former “Friends” co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow in a series of surprising puzzle rooms. Immediatel­y following, the two-hour “Red Nose Day Special” features an all-star cast doing their bit for the cause.

“Burden of Truth” (8 p.m. Thursday, WPCW): Season 3 of this legal drama, which opens a year after the events of Season 2, finds Joanna Chang (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy Crawford (Peter Mooney) working together at Crawford Chang, their boutique law firm.

“Holey Moley” (9 p.m. Thursday, WTAE): Joe Tessitore and profession­al wise guy Rob Riggle return as the on-camera commentato­rs, with Jeannie Mai acting as the sideline correspond­ent, as this delightful minigolf competitio­n series — one of last season’s most improbable reality show hits — returns for Season 2.

“Labor of Love” (9 p.m. Thursday, WPGH): As a contestant on Season 11 of “The Bachelor,” Kristy Katzmann didn’t succeed in finding a true love match, but she’s hoping for better luck as the female in the spotlight of this new relationsh­ip series, hosted by former

“Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis.

“To Tell the Truth” (10 p.m. Thursday, WTAE): Host Anthony Anderson (“black-ish”) returns for the Season 5 premiere of this witty reimaginin­g of a vintage game show from the golden age of television.

“The Lovebirds” (Friday, Netflix): Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani play a couple experienci­ng a defining moment in their relationsh­ip when they are unintentio­nally embroiled in a murder mystery.

“AKA Jane Roe” (9 p.m. Friday, FX): FX Networks’ first documentar­y feature profiles Norma McCorvey, the defendant in the historic Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case in 1973.

“Naked and Afraid XL” (8 p.m. Sunday, DSC): Contestant­s on this harrowing reality competitio­n series never have had an easy time of it, but the 12 new survivalis­ts introduced in the two-hour season premiere will confront unpreceden­ted challenges during their 40 days on the scorching savannah of South Africa.

“sMothered” (10 p.m. Sunday, TLC): Two new mother-and-daughter pairings are introduced as this hit reality series opens Season 2 with a premiere called “What Mom Wants, Mom Gets.”
