1932 World War I veterans seeking payouts from the government, referred to as The Bonus Army, marched through Pittsburgh en route to Washington.

1950 The U.S. Supreme Court, in Henderson v. United States, struck down racially segregated railroad dining cars.

1968 Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was shot and mortally wounded after claiming victory in California’s Democratic presidenti­al primary at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Assassin Sirhan Bishara Sirhan was arrested at the scene.

1978 Bail bondsmen David Wander and Edward Reddington were convicted on a sex blackmail scheme against Allegheny

County Commission­er Robert N. Peirce. 2005 The 64-story U.S. Steel Tower building was sold at sheriff’s sale for $1.35 million as part of a plan to shift title from 600 Grant Street Associates to 600 GS Prop GP LLC without exchanging money.
