No new COVID-19 deaths are reported in Allegheny County
Western Pennsylvania counties reported no COVID-19 related deaths since Friday.
There were 34 new cases reported in Western Pennsylvania, led by Allegheny County with 16. All told, Allegheny is reporting 1,989 COVID-19 cases, according to the county health department on Saturday.
Of those 1,989 cases, 1,862 are confirmed and 127 are probable.
The first COVID-19 case in Allegheny County was reported on March 14. Since then, 168 people have died.
Of those 168 deaths, 156 are confirmed cases and 12 are probable.
All deaths are of people who ranged in age from 42 to 103, with 84 being the median age.
The numbers reported by Allegheny County are now in line with what the state is reporting after a change in the way data was collected. This change allowed cases that had not previously been included to be a part of the count.
