Western Pennsylvania reports 2 new COVID-19 deaths, 53 new cases
The state health department on Thursday reported 51 new deaths due to COVID-19. Two of them occurred in Western Pennsylvania, with Allegheny County and Beaver County each reporting a death.
With the new data, Allegheny has reported 173 deaths — 161 are confirmed and 12 are probable. Beaver County has 75 deaths.
The state also said there were 53 new positive cases in Western Pennsylvania. The highest single-day total was in Allegheny
County, with 21 new positive cases of COVID-19. Since March 14, the county has had 2,055 positive cases — 1,923 are confirmed and 132 are probable.
With the state’s 51 new deaths, Pennsylvania’s toll stands at 6,113. The state also reported 410 new positive cases. Thursday marked the 31st consecutive day the state reported less than 1,000 cases. Its total is 77,313.
