Allegheny County reported a triple-digit increase in new daily COVID19 cases for the fifth day in a row on Saturday, with 150 more infections. The county reported two new hospitaliz­ations and no additional deaths. The state saw an increase of 634 positive cases, with three additional deaths.

Since the county reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on March 14, it has had a total of 3,430 cases. The county is reporting 187 people have died from COVID-19. Pennsylvan­ia is reporting 89,375 total cases statewide and 6,749 deaths.

The newest cases in Allegheny County include people ranging in age from 3 to 87, with a median age of 26.

The county is continuing to ask residents to limit travel and errands to only those that are necessary. In response to a surge of cases over the last week, county officials on Thursday ordered all bars, restaurant­s and casinos to close for a week starting Friday and prohibited gatherings of more than 25 people.
