“Body Cam”: This film — part horror, part cop drama — stars Mary J. Blige and Nat Wolff as police officers haunted by a supernatur­al force after the death of a Black youth.

“Castle in the Ground”: A teenager, grieving the untimely death of his mother, falls into addiction as the opioid epidemic takes hold of their small town. Starring Imogen Poots, Alex Wolff, Neve Campbell.

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY

The Chicks, “Gaslighter”: The trio formerly known as The Dixie Chicks release their first new album in 14 years. It was originally a covers project to fulfill a contract, but singer Natalie Maines relates that her divorce sparked a new set of songs.

The Pretenders, “Hate for Sale”: The 11th album from the vaunted ’80s postpunk band is the first to feature the longtime touring lineup of Chrissie Hynde, guitarist James Walbourne, bassist Nick Wilkinson and founding drummer Martin Chambers. The 10 songs are also the first writing collaborat­ion between Hynde and Walbourne.

Ellie Goulding, “Brightest Blue”: The fourth album, and first in five years, from the

British electropop star features guest vocals from Blackbear, Diplo, Juice Wrld, Lauv, serpentwit­hfeet and Swae Lee.

Bush, “The Kingdom”: The eighth album from the British rock band features “Bullet Holes,” a song featured in the film “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum.”

Gang of Four, “Anti Hero”: The surviving members of the latter-day Gang of Four — singer John Sterry, bassist Thomas McNeice and drummer Tobias Humble — collaborat­ed with Andy Gill’s widow, Catherine Mayer, to celebrate the guitarist with this EP that includes the single “Forever

Starts Now.” The cover is a portrait of Gill by Shepard Fairey.

WHAT’S ON TV

“Fatal Affair” (Thursday, Netflix): Nia Long, Stephen Bishop and Omar Epps star in this thriller about a brief encounter with an old friend turning into a dangerous affair.

“30 Rock” (8 p.m. Thursday, WPXI): Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) is getting the band back together, so to speak, as the cast of NBC’s Emmy-winning sitcom “30 Rock” reunites for one night only to help NBC announce news about its 2020-21 TV season.

“Court Cam” (10 p.m. Thursday, A&E): ABC News chief legal analyst Dan Abrams returns as host as this well-received docuseries launches its second season, providing unrivaled access to engrossing courtroom moments from both high-profile trials to minor court proceeding­s.

“Cursed” (Friday, Netflix): Based on the upcoming book of the same name, the series is a reimaginin­g of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake.

“Kissing Game” (Friday, Netflix): In a cattleranc­hing town in Brazil’s countrysid­e, adolescent­s panic in this series when they are threatened by the outbreak of a contagious infection transmitte­d by kissing.

“Friday Night In with The Morgans” (10 p.m. Friday, AMC): Production on Season 10 of AMC’s hit series “The Walking Dead” was shuttered by the coronaviru­s pandemic, but one of the show’s stars, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has made good use of his downtime hosting this half-hour weekly talk show while quarantine­d with actress-wife Hilarie Burton Morgan on their upstate New York farm. Tonight’s finale marks the end of their 12 episodes, as the couple catch up remotely with Morgan’s “Dead” co-star Lauren Cohan.

“The Grapes of Wrath” (10:15 p.m. Friday, TCM): The fact that Henry Fonda didn’t win an Oscar for his work in this 1940 drama is almost as criminal as the injustices committed against the bedraggled migrant laborers in the film, based on John Steinbeck’s novel.

“The Maltese Falcon” (8 p.m. Saturday, TCM): Dashiell Hammett’s hard-boiled private eye Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) searches for a jewel-encrusted statue he comes to realize is “the stuff that dreams are made of” in this 1941 film noir classic.

“The Alienist: Angel of Darkness” (9 p.m. Sunday, TNT): Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning return to their starring roles in this adaptation of novelist Caleb Carr’s sequel to his psychologi­cal thriller “The Alienist,” which earned six Emmy nomination­s for its 2018 TNT run.

“United Shades of America” (10 p.m. Sunday, CNN): W. Kamau Bell returns to host Season 5 of this Emmy-winning eight-part docuseries that explores communitie­s across the United States to understand the unique challenges each of them faces. In the season premiere, Bell examines white supremacy and systemic racism in America.
