Spiritual, political war over life and death

-

What makes liberals and conservatives “tick”? The answer to this secret could stop the broad-brush hatred of “the other side.”

I’ve been a Democrat most of my life. Democrats cared about the poor, the working man and the plight of the young mother.

As time went by, I realized that each party is composed of good people who believe that they work for all Americans, but who go about it in immensely different ways. Did the parties grow canyons apart or did my understanding teach me that I no longer belonged in a Democratic world?

We all know that service to people through prayer, contributing materially or hands-on help is vital. I think both parties agree on this value. Our citizens demonstrate selfless love each day. I used to think that we all have so much in common; why pigeonhole us into a political party anyway?

But the Democratic Party left me behind. Roe v. Wade, as dark as it was, somehow became the death of an unborn child up until birth and beyond. The oath of “do no harm” was swallowed up by a tiny abortion survivor denied medical care. The champion of all people rapidly became the enemy of the most vulnerable.

Among issues that divide us, abortion is, in my opinion, the foundation of evil itself, underlying unrest, killings in the streets and mistreatment of fellow Americans. It has caused disrespect for the elderly and intolerance of the handicapped. If we cannot respect life in the womb, how can we respect another person? This spiritual and political war between life and death is why I’ve become a conservative.

Castle Shannon federal levels support loosening society up even more instead of extending further, significant assistance to small businesses and the unemployed.

So, as a re-election strategy, Mr. Trump knows who he wants walking around, living and breathing, and who he might care a little less about. He is letting the coronavirus run its course, given who it’s most affecting. And maybe, if time’s on his side, he can take credit for the vaccine, wiping away all memory of his indifference and incompetence.

Donald Trump, 45th president of the United States of America, knows exactly what he is doing.
