Small businesses

-

I’m writing because I am concerned about the future of our business community. As an ad agency owner, I believe in capitalism. An advertiser supplies a product or service and our job is to drive the demand for that product or service with honesty in their ads. Very simple.

Which brings me to this local congressional race. Rep. Conor Lamb, D-Mt. Lebanon, was “advertised” as a moderate Democrat. A pro-2a, pro-business, pro-capitalism “Kennedy Democrat.”

But his voting record has been in lockstep with the leaders of his party. Pro-socialism, higher taxes and indifference to anarchy. Politicians like Mr. Lamb avoid the subject of tax increases and provide denials that this lawless activity even exists, with prominent Democratic leaders even calling this activity a “myth.”

The Democrats admitted that the corporate tax (which affects every single one of us small-business owners) will be raised again to over the 30% mark ... and not a word from Mr. Lamb on how he is going to protect us from that tax. Any additional taxes on these small businesses will be the final nail in their coffin.

Where is Conor Lamb on these topics?

It is time for the small-business community in this district to vote against any candidate who approves additional taxes on business or employee income. It is time to vote against the defunding of police that keep our local businesses and their employees and customers safe. It’s time to vote for Sean Parnell.
