Young goaltender notches second consecutive shutout
Carter Hart posts second consecutive shutout in 2-0 win vs. Montreal.
Carter Hart stopped 29 shots for his second consecutive shutout, Michael Raffl and Phil Myers scored and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Montreal Canadiens, 2-0, Tuesday to take a 3-1 lead in their first-round Eastern Conference series in Toronto.
The top-seeded Flyers can wrap up the series in Game 5 Wednesday.
It marked the fifth time in NHL history that a goalie had back-to-back postseason shutouts before age 23 and the first since Felix Potvin in 1994. He became the youngest goalie in Flyers history to notch a shutout in Game 3 Sunday at 22 years, 3 days.
Raffl flicked the puck past veteran Carey Price for a top shelf goal just 6:32 into the game for a 1-0 lead. Myers made it 2-0 with 2:56 left in the second.

Stars 2, Flames 1: Dallas defenseman John Klingberg scored his first goal since the NHL’s restart early in the third period, and the Stars held to beat Calgary and take a 3-2 lead in their first-round Western Conference series in Edmonton, Alberta.
Capitals 3, Islanders 2: Alex Ovechkin scored the tying goal at 5:29 of the second period and the winner at 3:40 of the third as Washington overcame an early, 2-0 deficit to stave off elimination at the hands of New York in their first-round Eastern Conference series in Toronto.

Dale Hawerchuk, who became the face of the Winnipeg Jets en route to the Hall of Fame, has died at the age of 57 after a battle with cancer. A teenage star, Hawerchuk was drafted first overall in 1981. He played nine seasons in Winnipeg, five in Buffalo before finishing a 16-year NHL career with stints in St. Louis and Philadelphia. Hawerchuk had 518 goals and 1,409 points in 1,188 regular-season games . ... Forward Vladimir Tarasenko will miss the rest of the St. Louis Blues’ first-round series against the Vancouver Canucks after aggravating his surgically repaired left shoulder.
