Take a (car) seat for City Theatre’s Drive-In Arts Festival

City Theatre will present The Drive-In Arts Festival, 12 nights of music, theater, comedy and dance at the Hazelwood Green, on Sept. 10-27.

The space is a parking lot with a covered stage and a large screen simulcasti­ng a live projection of the show. Audio will be transmitte­d through vehicles’ FM radios. Vehicles will be spaced to allow for physical distancing between guests.

Restrooms will be available, but there will be no concession­s. Guests can bring their own food, but alcohol and smoking are not permitted. Attendees will be asked to wear masks and social distance while away from their cars.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and performanc­es begin at 8 p.m. Latecomers will not be admitted. Most performanc­es will end by 9:45 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person for subscriber­s and $25 for nonsubscri­bers. Children under age 7 do not need a ticket. Attendees can have up to four people per car. Tickets must be purchased in advance, before 4 p.m. the day of the performanc­e. Go to citytheatr­ecompany.org or call 412431-2489.

Subscriber­s can transfer their money into tickets by calling the City Theatre box office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sept. 10: The Buckle Downs/ The Living Street presented by 91.3FM WYEP and Pittsburgh the Cultural Trust.

Sept. 11: A Night of Epic Comedy presented by Drinking Partners.

Sept. 12: 1Hood Media (hiphop).

Sept. 13: An Evening of Dance/Classical Music featuring Texture Dance Company; a Classical Music Ensemble presented by Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra; and James Gilmer, Pearlann Porter and slowdanger presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

Sept. 16: Classical Music Ensemble presented by Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Sept. 17: Dwayne Dolphin Trio and Tony DePaolis Quartet presented by MCG Jazz.

Sept. 18: Rapper-singer Mars

Jackson presented by the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.

Sept. 19: R&B singer INEZ presented by WYEP.

Sept. 20: Magician Lee Terbosic presented by Liberty Magic.

Sept. 24: Rock band Meeting of Important People presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and WYEP.

Sept. 25: Hip Hop and Spoken Word presented by 1Hood Media.

Sept. 26: An Evening of Jazz and Poetry featuring the Yoko Suzuki Trio and Thomas Wendt Quintet presented by MCG Jazz and City of Asylum.

Sept. 27: Social Justice Disco presented by Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
