Browns give RB Hunt a sizable extension

-

Kareem Hunt has found a home — at home.

Suspended last season by the NFL for two physical offfield altercations, Hunt signed a two- year, $ 13.25 million contract extension with the Cleveland Browns, who took a chance on the running back and now are committing to him long term.

Hunt, who served his eight- game suspension after joining Cleveland as a free agent following his release from Kansas City, signed the deal Tuesday. It includes $ 8.5 million guaranteed.

Hunt grew up in the Cleveland area and conveyed his appreciation in getting the extension with an Instagram posting.

“Cleveland has always been home to me, and putting on the Orange & Brown has been THE dream growing up,” Hunt wrote.

Cardinals

Arizona agreed to a twoyear extension with star receiver DeAndre Hopkins that will keep the three- time All- Pro with the team through 2024. The team didn’t disclose terms. The NFL Network reported that the extension is worth $ 54.5 million over two years with $ 42.75 million guaranteed.

Denver officials fear star linebacker Von Miller suffered a season- ending ankle

injury toward the end of practice. The practice took place indoors because of a snowstorm in the Rocky Mountains after a series of upper- 90s and 100- degree days. Miller appeared primed for a big season after adding muscle and rededicating himself.

Bills

Buffalo signed receiver Jake Kumerow to its practice squad, three days after he was cut by Green Bay. The Packers’ decision to cut Kumerow was considered one of their biggest surprises in establishing their 53player roster.

Buccaneers

Quarterback Josh Rosen landed on the practice squad for Tampa Bay, where he’ll get to learn from Tom Brady.

Giants

New York waived cornerback DeAndre Baker with the 22- year- old facing armed robbery charges relating to an incident in Florida in May. The Giants announced the move less than a week after co- owner John Mara said the team was close to a decision on Baker’s future with the club.
