A RESTRICTED GOODBYE
Detained left- wing activist Reina Mae Nasino, in handcuffs and wearing a protective suit to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, looks at the coffin of her 3- month- old firstborn, River, during funeral rites at a cemetery in the Philippines’ capital city of Manila on Friday. Left- wing groups decried the treatment of the detained activist as brutal. Nasino was allowed by a Manila court to attend her baby’s burial, but was restrained and surrounded by swarms of armed escorts as she quietly wept.
