North Al­legheny pow­ers to vic­tory

Un­beaten and top- ranked North Al­legheny has ac­com­plished a lot this year, but there was one thing the Tigers had not done prior to Fri­day, and that was to reg­is­ter a shutout.

Check that off the list.

The Tigers over­pow­ered CanonMcMil­lan on both sides of the ball and blanked the Big Macs, 35- 0, in the Quad County Con­fer­ence.

North Al­legheny ( 5- 0, 4- 0) had 330 yards of to­tal of­fense, com­pared to 117 for the Big Macs ( 23, 2- 3). The Tigers did most of their dam­age through the air. Greg

Phillips was 17 for 23 with 240 yards and four touch­downs. Ma­son Kress hauled in nine catches for 92 yards and scored on re­cep­tions of 16 and 8 yards. Khalil Dink­ins had four catches for 42 yards and a score. J. R. Bur­ton hauled in an 84- yard scor­ing strike. Bur­ton also scored on a 3yard run.

Canon- McMil­lan won the pos­ses­sion bat­tle, main­tain­ing the ball for 37: 07 com­pared to 19: 57 for North Al­legheny.

More Class 6A

Mt. Le­banon 48, Nor­win 14: The Blue Devils ( 3- 2, 3- 2) have won three of their past four af­ter han­dling Nor­win ( 1- 5, 1- 5) in the Quad County Con­fer­ence. Mt. Le­banon churned out 228 yards on the ground and racked up 401 yards of of­fense. Nor­win had 133 yards of to­tal of­fense, with 106 yards com­ing through the air.

City League

West­ing­house 30, Univer­sity Prep 0: West­ing­house has re­fused en­try into the end zone to ev­ery op­po­nent this sea­son. The Bull­dogs ( 4- 0, 4- 0) have blanked ev­ery op­po­nent they have faced and outscored them by a com­bined 94- 0.
