Shenango rides sec­ond- half surge to beat OLSH

Un­de­feated Shenango main­tained its lead in the Big Seven Con­fer­ence Fri­day night by pulling away in the sec­ond half from Our Lady of the Sa­cred Heart in a 4521 home vic­tory.

Reis Watkins, the sec­ond- lead­ing rusher in the WPIAL, scored the first two Wild­cat touch­downs on runs of 70 and 5 yards in the first half. But No. 3- ranked Shenango ( 6- 0, 6- 0) only held a 27- 21 half­time lead over Our Lady of the Sa­cred Heart ( 4- 2, 4- 2).

Quar­ter­back Tino Cam­poli took over in the sec­ond half for Shenango, throw­ing touch­down passes of 26 and 23 yards to CJ Miller and Dal­ton Peters re­spec­tively. Watkins fin­ished with 120 yards on eight car­ries.

As a team, the Wild­cats rushed for 240 yards on 34 car­ries while rolling up 383 yards in to­tal of­fense and 11 first downs.

Our Lady of the Sa­cred Heart was led by Jay Pear­son, who rushed for 150 yards on 15 car­ries and scored on a 1- yard run. Pear­son also scored a touch­down on a 98- yard kick­off re­turn.

More Class 1A

Leechburg 76, Riverview 25: Brayon Lovelace rushed for 398 yards on 19 car­ries to lead the Blue Devils ( 3- 3, 3- 3), who scored in dou­ble- dig­its in ev­ery quar­ter, to rout the vis­it­ing Raiders ( 0- 6, 0- 6)

in the East­ern Con­fer­ence. Lovelace scored four touch­downs. He scored on runs of 95, 85, 58 and 15 yards.

Union 43, Fort Cherry 42: Union ( 3- 3, 3- 3) ral­lied at home with a 16- 0 run in the fourth quar­ter to edge the Rangers ( 2- 4, 2- 4) in the Big Seven Con­fer­ence. Jack­son Clark scored late on a 1- yard run and An­thony Neal caught a 2point con­ver­sion pass from Tyler Staub for the win­ning points. Clark fin­ished with 100 yards rush­ing.

West Greene 53, Brownsvill­e 12: Corey Wise rushed for 101 yards on four car­ries and scored on runs of 59 and 31 yards to lead the host Pioneers ( 2- 3) past the 3A Fal­cons ( 0- 6) in a non- con­fer­ence game. West Greene orig­i­nally was slated to play last night at home against Monessen and Brownsvill­e was sched­uled to play at Southmorel­and.

Springdale 55, Imani Chris­tian 8: The Dy­namos ( 5- 1,5- 1) bounced back from their first loss of the sea­son by rout­ing the Saints ( 1- 5, 1- 5) in the East­ern Con­fer­ence. Dim­itri Fritch and Lo­gan Dex­ter scored three touch­downs each for Springdale. Two of Fritch’s touch­downs came on pass re­cep­tions from Leg­end Ausk. Dex­ter scored on runs of 21 and 19 yards. He also re­turned a punt 62 yards for a touch­down.

Jef­fer­son- Mor­gan

Maple­town 13: The Rock­ets ( 3- 3, 3- 3) ral­lied to win at Maple­town ( 15, 1- 5) in a Tri- County South con­test. Jonathan Wolfe rushed for 140 yards on 25 car­ries to lead Jef­fer­son- Mor­gan. Wolfe scored on a 4- yard run in the third quar­ter af­ter the Rock­ets trailed, 13- 8.

Class 2A

Beaver Falls 50, Free­dom 14: Josh Hough rushed for 193 yards to lead the No. 1 Tigers ( 6- 0, 6- 0) past the Bull­dogs ( 3- 3, 3- 3) in the Mid­west­ern Con­fer­ence. Hough scored on runs of 19, 16 and 94 yards. Shileak Liv­ing­ton added 167 yards rush­ing while also scor­ing three touch­downs.

Ligo­nier Val­ley 42, Waynesburg 7: Sopho­more quar­ter­back Hay­den Sie­rocky rushed for three touch­downs and passed for two more to lead the Rams ( 3- 3) to a non- con­fer­ence rout of the host Raiders ( 0- 6). Ligo­nier Val­ley led, 27- 0, at half­time.

South Side Beaver 33, Brentwood 16: The Rams ( 2- 4, 2- 4) spot­ted the Spar­tans an early lead, but shut out Brentwood ( 2- 2, 3- 3) af­ter the first quar­ter to claim a vic­tory on the road in the Three Rivers Con­fer­ence. Aden Al­mashy led South Side Beaver with 165 yards rush­ing while scor­ing five touch­downs.

Frazier 39, Beth- Cen­ter 0: The 20, Com­modores ( 4- 1, 4- 2) routed the

host Bull­dogs ( 1- 4, 1- 5) in the Cen­tury Con­fer­ence. Kenny Fine led Frazier with 114 yards rush­ing and four touch­downs. One of his touch­downs came on a 13- yard re­cep­tion from Do­minick Dor­con.

Wash­ing­ton 39, Charleroi 0: No. 5 Wash­ing­ton ( 4- 2, 4- 1) blanked the Cougars ( 2- 4, 2- 4) in the Cen­tury Con­fer­ence. Mike Allen led the Lit­tle Prex­ies with three touch­downs. Two of them came on short runs, with the third touch­down com­ing on a 40- yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn.

River­side 27, Ellwood City 12:

The Pan­thers ( 2- 4, 2- 4) topped neigh­bor­hood ri­val Ellwood City ( 06, 0- 6) in the Mid­west­ern Con­fer­ence. Sa­muel Hughes scored two rush­ing touch­downs and passed for an­other touch­down cov­er­ing 30 yards to Calvin Hughes.

Bur­gettstown 27, North­gate 7: Shane Kem­per led the Blue Devils ( 3- 3, 3- 3) past the host Flames ( 06, 0- 6) by scor­ing the game’s first three touch­downs. Cole Shergi led Bur­gettstown in rush­ing with 127 yards on 15 car­ries and one touch­down. Kem­per fin­ished with 95 yards rush­ing on 14 car­ries.
