Pitt women defeat Clemson in ACC
Sophomore Dayshanette Harris scored 21 points as the Pitt women overcame a 14-point second-half deficit to collect their first ACC victory of the season, downing the previously unbeaten Clemson Tigers (6-1, 1-1), 8071, at Petersen Events Center.
Pitt (3-2, 1-1 ACC) had four players score in double figures as Harris had her second consecutive 20- plus point game, netting a gamehigh 21 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds on an efficient 9for-16 shooting performance while Jayla Everett finished with 16 points.
“I’m really excited about an ACC win and I thought the things that we did in the third and fourth quarters were much better,” thirdyear head coach Lance White said.
West Virginia
The women (5-1) bounced back from a loss earlier this week in dominant fashion, as they defeated James Madison (42), 85-54, in Morgantown. Sophomore forward Esmery Martinez recorded her third double-double of the season, grabbing 21 rebounds while posting 11 points.

Ten Conference opener went down to the wire as the Nittany Lions (3-2, 0-1) overcame a nine-point halftime deficit, but came up just short in the final minute.
Iowa
Luka Garza scored 23 points and Joe Wieskamp added 20 as No. 3rankedIowa (6-0) beat visiting Northern Illinois (0-5), 106-53. Garza came into the game leading Division I in scoring at 30.4 points per game.
