Two accused of X-rated chat during virtual county jail visit

- By Anthony Conroy

A man and a woman are accused of engaging in sexual acts done virtually and in the presence of a toddler during a visitation session at the Allegheny County Jail, county police said Thursday.

Jail officials, while screening video of the session, said they witnessed Natika Maddox, 23, of McKees Rocks, performing sex acts on camera and while nude below the waist during a virtual visit with Justin Henderson, 27, of Brighton Heights, on Tuesday. The jail then alerted county police.

During the call, Ms. Maddox was at her home, while Mr. Henderson was within his housing unit at the jail, police said. In the criminal

complaints for both, police said the call was conducted on a conference call application used by the jail and similar to Zoom or Google Meet. The visitation session was conducted via electronic tablets.

During the virtual session, police said Ms. Maddox was in bed with the toddler. Ms. Maddox and Mr. Henderson “discussed the child’s presence and Maddox also interacted with the child during the session.”

In the criminal complaint, police said Mr. Henderson was in an area of the jail in which other inmates can be heard off camera.

Mr. Henderson, who is in jail while awaiting trial on drug charges, has been charged with sexual abuse of children, corruption of a minor and other offenses. Ms. Maddox was arrested and arraigned on the same charges. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 13.

Police said the Office of Children, Youth and Families had been contacted “for appropriate action or response.”
