Pittsburgh siblings Leanne and Steve Ford became known for fixing up homes on HGTV’s “Restored by the Fords.” Now they’re bringing home their talent for creating welcoming environments on a new show, “Home Again With the Fords,” which premieres at 9 p.m. Tuesday on HGTV.

The show will focus on homeowners returning to the Pittsburgh area to put down roots with help from the Fords, who grew up in Upper St. Clair. Each of the seven episodes includes Leanne’s fresh take on interior design and Steve’s talent for taking her ideas and making them real.

She knows exactly what homeowners on the new show are going through, having recently moved back to the area with her husband, Erik, and baby daughter, Ever. Her brother, a contractor, also has a home in the region.

“We have been able to highlight different neighborhoods and talk more about our amazing hometown of Pittsburgh,” Ms. Ford said by phone Wednesday. “I’m excited for viewers to get to know us, our family and our hometown more in this new format.”

The pandemic has many Americans realizing they don’t want to spend their life commuting or living somewhere just because it’s closer to work. Some are choosing to live where they feel a sense of community and that is often the place they grew up.

“The new season is special to us for so many reasons,” Ms. Ford said. “We now have hourlong episodes, which lets us dive more into the client’s stories, which directly impact design decisions.”
