Rhodes firm to merge with global advisory company
The Rhodes Group, a construction consulting firm with offices in Pittsburgh and Houston, will be acquired by Washington, D.C.-based FTI Consulting Inc., according to an agreement the companies announced Monday.
The deal is expected to close during the second quarter of 2020. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Rhodes Group will add about 40 billable professionals to the construction and environmental solutions practice within FTI Consulting’s forensic and litigation consulting segment.
FTI is a global business advisory firm with 6,300 employees in 26 countries. The company generated $2.46 billion in revenue in 2020.
“Construction & Environmental Solution is one of our strongest and fastest growing segments globally, and the opportunity to add the industryleading team from the Rhodes Group supports our ambition of serving leading law firms, contractors and owners as they navigate the most challenging construction-related disruption and disputes,” said Steven H. Gunby, president and CEO of FTI Consulting.
The Rhodes Group, founded in 1999, focuses on the power, oil and gas, industrial, infrastructure and commercial building sectors.
Andrew Rhodes, founder and president of The Rhodes Group, will join FTI Consulting as a senior managing director.
“Our clients undertake complex projects in challenging environments across the globe,” Mr. Rhodes said. “We have longstanding relationships with many of our clients, and the global platform at FTI Consulting will only bolster our ability to serve that clientele and enhance FTI Consulting’s position as a leader in the construction consulting industry.”
