Help with GPS a direct link to fun day
On June 9, I took my grandsons, ages 8 and 9, to the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh.
I am not familiar with the city, as I am from Chester County and have lived in the Canonsburg, Washington County, area for a few years.
I put the directions in my GPS, and off we went. I did fine until I crossed the bridge and proceeded to Interstate 279. I missed a turn, and my GPS was not recalculating.
I stopped at a gas station, and a very kind young man came over to my car and asked me if I needed help. I did, and he said he would reset my GPS and that I was only 10 minutes away from my destination.
He was definitely my guardian angel that day. We spent a fun day at the museum thanks to that young man.
Pittsburghers are the best.

Selfless neighbor deserves praise
We have the best neighbor — she is our “angel.”
My son has been on dialysis for 37 years and has been in many rehabilitation centers and hospitals. My other son fell from a malfunctioning scaffold that was three stories high and crushed both of his heels.
Both never married, and they live with me. I am 89 years old and try to help out.
So, needless to say, we are blessed with my “angel” Nancy. She takes both my recycling and garbage cans to the street and also puts them back.
And when we had newspapers delivered every day, she put them on the porch regardless of the weather.
She also calls me to tell me about the ballgames — love my Pirates and Steelers.
Her name is Nancy McDonald, but I call her “my angel.”

Vietnam vet appreciates acknowledgment
My husband and I were dining out at Buffalo Wild Wings after hibernating forever.
He is a Vietnam veteran, and this is the first time someone came forward to thank him for his service and pay for our meals.
When we told him this was the first time anyone had done this, he apologized and said he was sorry it never happened before.
He was with his son. What a wonderful person he is — and a great role model. Thank you again.
