Fenway Park unkind to Cole
Rafael Devers hit two home runs, including a goahead blast in the fifth inning, to help the Boston Red Sox best New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole for the second consecutive time at Fenway Park in a 6-2 win Friday night.
Devers followed his tworun with a three-run homer in the seventh — the 100th of his career.
It marked the second consecutive game the Red Sox rallied from a 1-0 deficit and they earned their ninth victory against rival New York in 11 meetings this season. Hill, 41, was 6-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 19 starts for the Rays. … Stephen Strasburg, 33, has made only five starts this season because of neck and shoulder issues, hasn’t pitched since June 1 and felt discomfort in his neck after a recent bullpen session.
