1 Nick Gonzales, 2B, High-A Greensboro: Got hot this week, going 11-for-33 over his last eight games to raise his season slash line to .261/.337/.448. Homered on Wednesday, his first since July 6.
2 Quinn Priester, RHP, High-A Greensboro: Has now gone two straight starts throwing six innings. Most recently, allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Now has a 3.27 ERA in 55 innings.
3 Oneil Cruz, SS, Class AA Altoona: Has not played since June 30 thanks to right forearm soreness. Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Cruz has no symptoms and could resume throwing soon.
4 Liover Peguero, SS, High-A Greensboro: Peguero has hits in 11 of his last 13 games and nine of his last 10. Homered on Thursday for the first time since July 7.
5 Hudson Head, OF, Low-A Bradenton: Still gets on base a lot, with a .378 on-base percentage, and his OPS remains just shy of .800. Went 4-for-19 this week, though, lowering his season batting average to .216.
6 Tahnaj Thomas, RHP, High-A Greensboro: Pitched 4 1/3 innings last Sunday in his second start since returning from some time off to work on mechanics. Once again did not allow a walk and struck out three while allowing two earned runs on four hits.
7 Tucupita Marcano, INF, Class AAA Indianapolis: Acquired from the Padres in the Adam Frazier trade. Has played in two games with Indianapolis, going 0-for-7 with two walks and a run scored.
8 Brennan Malone, RHP, GCL Pirates: Was moved from Low-A Bradenton to rookie ball for developmental purposes in May. Had allowed four runs over 3 2/3 innings before the move. Sustained a “mild” right shoulder injury, too, but is now throwing side sessions again.
9 Travis Swaggerty, OF, Class AAA Indianapolis: Will be out for the remainder of the season after undergoing right shoulder surgery in May.
10 Cody Bolton, RHP, Class AA Altoona: Likely will not pitch this season after undergoing right knee surgery at the beginning of the season.
