Lake Erie (Erie County): Walleye wanted meat this week; few catches were reported on lures. Many throwaways were caught inshore off Walnut Creek, but good fishing was reported at 6575 feet. Worm harnesses were hot and limits were taken, but walleye anglers also reported boating a lot of white perch. On Tuesday afternoon northwest of Presque Isle, ’ eyes were marked at 62 feet in 72 feet of water. Anglers trolling harnesses south of the mountain off North East limited out in several hours.

Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County): A muskie in the 35-inch range took a jointed Pikie and was released. Crappies were suspended at 10 feet in waters off the Jamestown campground.

Sugar Lake ( Crawford County): Chain pickerel, bowfin, largemouth bass and panfish were caught. The dock was in place at the Fish and Boat access area.

Allegheny River (Venango County): Anglers picked off smallmouth­s using tubes and top-water lures.

Oil Creek ( Venango County): Smallmouth bass went for live minnows and soft plastics from Rynd Farm to the Allegheny River confluence. Trout moved to cool tributary waters.

Lake Arthur ( Butler County): Joe Fazio of Mount Washington said Tuesday night was a “crazy, crazy slab fest,” with more than 100 good- sized crappies boated. The host of Facebook group pages Lake Arthur Crappie Anglers and Crappie Crushin’ TV said they took plastic worms and live minnows. On the same trip, Pittsburgh angler Tom Ketter hooked two catfish simultaneo­usly on two rods — a 7½-pound channel catfish and a smaller flathead.

Raccoon Lake (Beaver County): Bass were on structure and taking soft plastic baits.

Bradys Run Lake (Beaver County): Families gathered on nice days and caught largemouth­s, crappies and bluegills.

Ohio River ( Beaver County): Jesse St. Esprit of Center thought it was a flathead, but when he wrangled it to the boat it was a 4-foot American eel, caught at night on cut bait.

Carnegie Lake (Allegheny County): Each time Nyomi Cohen, 11, of Pittsburgh, caught a fish, it was bigger than the one before. She capped the day with the accidental catch of a volleyball-sized turtle, which was safely unhooked and released. Nyomi was participat­ing in a weekly fishing outing with Gwen’s Girls and the Black Girls Equity Alliance, which meets at the Highland Park pond from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Ohio River ( Allegheny County): The catfish spawn was nearly over and big flatheads were hunting at night.

Allegheny River ( Allegheny County): Waters were warming and chubs, live minnows and crawlers were attracting largemouth, smallmouth and rock bass, walleye, sauger and saugeye. Catches of a few channel cats and flatheads were reported. A 14-inch smallmouth was taken on a crawler, and Sam Vassallo, 8, of Morningsid­e, caught a bluegill on the North Shore wharf as part of Venture Outdoors’ TriAnglers lunchtime fishing program. The group provides free loaner rods and bait, and Fish and Boat waives license requiremen­ts. TriAnglers meets 11: 30 a. m.- 1: 30 p. m. Wednesdays under the Clemente Bridge. Monongahel­a River (Allegheny County): Muskies, smallmouth­s and walleye were taken below Lock and Dam No. 3 in Elizabeth.

Fish with loaner rods, free live bait and no license requiremen­ts 11 a. m.- 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Post-Gazette Family Fishing Area at the Moraine State Park Regatta, Butler County.
