Manufacturing
Koppers Holdings Inc. said Michael J. Zugay, chief financial officer, will retire Dec. 31. The board appointed Jimmi Sue Smith, its current vice president, finance and treasurer, to assume the role of chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1.

Mark Hutchinson was named vice president of network engineering, and Virgil King was named vice president of field operations for Comcast’s Keystone Region, which comprises western, central and northeastern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and the Maryland panhandle.

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh elected Michael Polite, executive vice president of Beacon Communities LLC, as chair of its board.
Awards and Honors
PPG said employees Rachel Harris and Kristin Nuzzio received 2021 STEP Ahead Awards from the Manufacturing Institute for their exemplary leadership and industry achievements. The Manufacturing Institute, which is the education and workforce partner of the National Association of Manufacturers, created the awards to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding female leadership in manufacturing.

Groundworks completed its 20th acquisition with the addition of Central Pennsylvania-based I’m the Guy Basements. As part of the acquisition, I’m the Guy Basements will merge with Pittsburgh-based Baker’s Waterproofing, a Groundworks company acquired earlier this year. The two Pennsylvania companies will now be united under one brand, Baker’s Waterproofing, and form the largest foundation services and waterproofing company in Pennsylvania.
