Latest mark adds to Brady’s legacy
Tom Brady’s latest milestone is another untouchable one. Brady became the first player to throw 600 career touchdown passes and then tacked on two more in Tampa Bay’s 38-3 rout Sunday of Chicago.
Brady is on pace to throw a career-best 51 TD passes this season, but even if he called it quits now, 602 seems quite safe. Consider this: Aaron Rodgers is fifth on the alltime list and trails Brady by 175 TD passes. Rodgers, who turns 38 Dec. 2, would have to average 35 TD passes per season for five more years after Brady retires to catch him.
Bears
Coach Matt Nagy said he tested positive for COVID-19 but is asymptomatic. Nagy is vaccinated. League rules say vaccinated individuals who are asymptomatic can return to the practice facility once they have two consecutive negative PCR tests taken at least 24 hours apart.
Jets
Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will be sidelined 2 to 4 weeks, coach Robert Saleh said. In response, the Jets traded for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, 36, sending a conditional sixth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles. Flacco started four games for the Jets last year after Sam Darnold was injured.
Rams
Los Angeles traded inside linebacker Kenny Young and a 2024 seventhround draft pick to the Denver Broncos for a 2024 sixth-round pick. After seven games, Young was third on the team with 39 tackles. He is in the final year of a contract that pays him $2.2 million this season.
Packers
All-Pro receiver Davante Adams was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and will not be available Thursday against unbeaten Arizona. Defensive coordinator Joe Barry also tested positive. He is fully vaccinated and could be available if he tests negative Tuesday and Wedneesday.
Saints
Brian Johnson kicked a 33-yard field goal with 1:56 left to cap a 16-play drive and New Orleans beat host Seattle, 13-10. When Seahawks got the ball back, quarterback Geno Smith was sacked twice in a row and threw incomplete on fourth down.
