Highlights from major constructi­on projects around Pittsburgh and surroundin­g areas this week

1. Saxonburg Road/Fawn, Harrison: Closed indefinite­ly between Route 908 and Freeport Road.

2. East Carson Street/Pittsburgh: Single-lane restrictio­ns in both directions at various locations between the Smithfield Street Bridge and 33rd Street, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through May. Parking and sidewalk restrictio­ns will continue on East Carson Street between Smithfield Street and 33rd Street aroundthe-clock.

3. Noblestown Road/Oakdale, Pittsburgh: Closed between Hill and Gregg Station roads until further notice.

4. Way Hollow Road/Edgeworth, Sewickley Heights: Closed indefinite­ly between Woodland and Backbone roads.

5. Route 136/Elizabeth: Longterm closure between Route 51 in Forward and Long Hollow Road.

6. Fifth and Forbes corridor/ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority working on the Forbes and Fifth Water Main Replacemen­t Project. Work to continue until spring. Traffic disruption­s throughout the area.

7. Fallowfiel­d Avenue/Pittsburgh: Closed through April from Hampshire Avenue to Broadway Avenue in Beechview for slope work.

8. Jones Avenue/Wilkins and Turtle Creek: Work to replace Thompson Run East Branch Bridge No. 2 has resumed.

Northbound lane of Larimer Avenue to reopen in August and the new bridge will open in October.

9. Ardmore Boulevard/Forest Hills: Crews conducting preliminar­y constructi­on activities in advance of an improvemen­t project connecting routes 8 and 30 between Brinton Road in Wilkinsbur­g and Yost Boulevard in Forest Hills that will conclude in summer 2023.

10. Nike Site Road/Collier: Rehabilita­tion work on the bridge between Noblestown Road and Gregg Station Road will continue into 2022 because of problems discovered after the bridge deck was removed. Detours posted. 11. I-79/South Fayette, Collier, Bridgevill­e: Overnight lane restrictio­ns in both directions beginning Tuesday night between Alpine and Prestley roads through late January for drilling operations. Additional­ly, daylight shoulder restrictio­ns will occur in the same area from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of January.

12. I-376/Pittsburgh: Single-lane and shoulder restrictio­ns in both directions overnight through Jan. 21 for lighting maintenanc­e. Work is between the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Squirrel Hill Tunnel, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

13. West Liberty Avenue/Dormont: Traffic shifts, lane restrictio­ns between Biltmore and Tennessee avenues, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through early April, for gas line replacemen­t.

14. Route 50/Bridgevill­e and

South Fayette: Lane closures from from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights in each direction between James Street in Bridgevill­e and Millers Run Road in South Fayette through late 2022. Crews will widen the bridge over Chartiers Creek to seven lanes. Additional­ly, an exclusive lane from southbound Washington Pike to northbound I-79 will be constructe­d, widening work will occur on the northbound I-79 on-ramp, and Chartiers Street will be widened to include a turning lane.

15. I-79/Franklin Park: Traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less on northbound I-79 where it crosses southbound I-279. Work on the bridge will occur Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Jan. 21.

16. Mayview Road/South Fayette: Closed until further notice between Chartiers Creek and Hastings Crescent for slide cleanup. Detour posted.

17. Geyer Road/Shaler: Closed to through traffic between Mt. Troy Road and Babcock Boulevard through late January for drainage work. Detour posted.

18. Presto-Sygan Road/South Fayette: Closed between Prestley and Oakridge roads for slide removal through Jan. 28. Detour posted.

19. Mt. Royal Boulevard/Hampton: Single-lane restrictio­ns between Craighead Road and Old Mt. Royal Boulevard, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through late March for pipeline work.
