Biden vows to meet with lawmakers on gun control

-

President Joe Biden vowed Tuesday to meet with lawmakers about gun control legislation, while aides said the administration is currently researching additional executive actions he might take in the aftermath of last week’s deadly massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

“I will meet with the Congress on guns, I promise you,” Mr. Biden said as he welcomed New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to the White House.

But White House officials fear he may have already exhausted all available options, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

Before the Texas shooting, Mr. Biden placed additional restrictions on socalled ghost guns that are sold in kits and assembled by consumers, as well as pistol-stabilizing braces that can make handguns handle more like rifles.

Spacey to face U.K. sex assault charges

Kevin Spacey will go back to England on his own to face four charges of sexual assault, he announced Tuesday.

“I very much appreciate the Crown Prosecution Service’s statement in which they carefully reminded the media and the public that I am entitled to a fair trial, and innocent until proven otherwise,” he said in a statement to “Good Morning America.”

“While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the U.K. as soon as can be arranged and defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence.”
