Highlights from major construction projects around Pittsburgh and surrounding areas this week

1. Boyce and Mayview

roads/South Fayette: The western leg of Boyce Road and the southern leg of Mayview Road are closed to through traffic through late August for intersection improvements.

2. Noblestown Road/Oakdale, Pittsburgh: Closed between Hill and Gregg Station roads until further notice.

3. Ardmore Boulevard/Forest Hills, Wilkinsburg: Singlelane restrictions around-theclock in each direction between Lafayette Road and Brinton Road/Marlboro Avenue through late June. Crews will perform roadway and drainage reconstruction, milling, paving, pipe installation and other miscellaneous work.

4. Jerome Street Bridge/ McKeesport: Westbound traffic detoured through early July for ongoing bridge rehabilitation work.

5. Jones Avenue/Wilkins and Turtle Creek: Work to replace Thompson Run East Branch Bridge No. 2 has resumed. Northbound lane of Larimer Avenue to reopen in August, and the new bridge will open in October.

6. Route 50/Bridgeville and South Fayette: Lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights between James Street in Bridgeville and Millers Run Road in South Fayette through

late 2022. Crews are widening the bridge over Chartiers Creek. Additionally, a lane from southbound Washington Pike to northbound I-79 will be constructed, widening work will occur on the northbound I-79 onramp, and Chartiers Street will be widened to include a turning lane.

7. Forbes Avenue/Pittsburgh: Closed indefinitely near Frick Park and South Braddock Avenue because of the collapse of the Fern Hollow Bridge.

8. Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge/Pittsburgh: Closed for rehabilitation until December 2023.

9. Route 28/Aspinwall, Sharpsburg, O’Hara, Harmar: Work continues along a stretch of Route 28 in connection with the rebuilding of the highway at the Highland Park Bridge and north of there. Watch for singlelane restrictions in both directions and for frequently changing access to highway ramps.

10. Campbells Run Road/ Robinson: Closed between Keiners Lane and Brookside Drive through November for replacement of Campbells Run South Branch Bridges Nos. 5 and 6.

11. Rochester Road/Franklin Park: Slide repair work means part of the road is closed between Nicholson Road and Wexford Bayne Road. Through traffic prohibited around-the-clock through late June. Traffic detoured via Nicholson Road and Wexford Bayne Road.

12. Business Loop 376/ Moon: Single-lane closures in both directions through mid-July for storm inlet and median barrier removal and replacement. The lane closures will occur between the eastbound Halverson Drive on-ramp and the I-376 Moon (Exit 57) interchange. Crews will work in an approximate one-mile segment of roadway before moving to the next section.

13. Irvine Street, Second Avenue/Pittsburgh: Lane restrictions and traffic shifts around the clock through late July at the intersection of Route 885 with Greenfield Avenue. Work includes roadway widening, sidewalk and ramp installation, drainage improvements and signal upgrades. Also, single-lane restrictions, shoulder closures and intermittent traffic stoppages on Second Avenue through late December.

14. Perry Highway/Ross, West View: Single-lane restrictions between Ivory Avenue and Center Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights through late August for paving.

15. Route 88/Bethel Park and Castle Shannon: Singlelane alternating traffic between South Park Road and Connor Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights, 8 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, and 7 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday through late August for paving.

16. McLaughlin Run Road/ Upper St. Clair: Roundabout construction continues. McMillan Road closed to traffic in each direction between McLaughlin Run Road and Woodlands Circle through Aug. 15, as work enters the next phase of the roundabout construction. Traffic on McMillan Road will be detoured via McLaughlin Run Road, Route 19 (Washington Road) and Fort Couch Road.

17. Camp Meeting Road/ Bell Acres, Leet, Leetsdale: Periodic single-lane closures between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. between Camp Meeting Road Extension and Beaver Street. Work to continue through November for milling and paving, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement. Later this year, as part of the same project, Camp Meeting Road will be fully closed between Charleston Square and North Lane for slope stabilization work.

18. Andover Terrace/Pittsburgh: Closed indefinitely in the Upper Hill District for stabilization of a retaining wall.

19. East Willock Road/Baldwin Borough: Single-lane alternating traffic between Short Street and Bluff Street, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through late December for water line installation.

20. Route 837/West Homestead: Lane restrictions on Seventh and Eighth avenues between Neel Street and the Route 885 (Glenwood Bridge) interchange, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays through mid-November for pavement and related work.

21. Parkway East/Pittsburgh: Ramp restrictions at the I-376/Boulevard of Allies interchange, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights through late December for reconstruction.

22. Saw Mill Run Boulevard/Pittsburgh: Tree trimming on the ramp that carries Saw Mill Run Boulevard to Banksville Road; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Partial lane restrictions and traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less. Also, single-lane restriction on northbound Route 51 at the intersection with Overbrook Boulevard, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through July 10 for sewer line installation.

23. Stanton Avenue/Reserve: Closed between Johnston Street and Karen Drive for replacement of Girty’s Run Bridge. Work will continue until sometime in July.

24. Route 130 (Tri-Boro Expressway)/Turtle Creek, Wilmerding, Monroeville: Singlerestrictions in each direction through the rest of the year for resurfacing, bridge preservation, traffic signal upgrades and other work.

25. Coulterville Road/White Oak: Closed between Lincoln Way and Main Street through October to replace Long Run Bridge No. 3. Detour posted.

26. Blackburn Road/Sewickley Heights: Closed between Oak Knoll Drive and Magee Road through September for replacing Kilbuck Run Bridge No. 16. Detour posted.

27. Millers Run Road/South Fayette: Closed between Crest Street and Morgan Hill Road for slide removal work, through late August. Traffic detoured via Route 50.

28. Wexford Run Road/Marshall: Bridge that carries Wexford Run Road over I-79 closed through early October. The bridge is between Neely School and Valley roads. Detour posted.

29. I-79/Neville Island Bridge: Single-lane restrictions nightly from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. through late October.

30. Boulevard of the Allies/ Pittsburgh: Single-lane restrictions inbound between Van Braam Street and Marion Street from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays through early July.

31. Pittsburgh- McKeesport Boulevard/West Mifflin: Singlelane alternating traffic between Buttermilk Hollow Road and Lebanon Church Road, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through late August for roadway restoration work. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. 34. Route 65/Glenfield: Lane restrictions on southbound Route 65 at the Neville Island Bridge, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through late July as crews conduct substructure repair work on the bridge.
