3 good things By Abby Mackey good gathering:

-

Dan Droz’s metal sculpture “The Gathering” stands tall at 15th Street in the Strip District, and it now has a sister sculpture in California. At the request of California’s Lancaster Museum of Art and History, Mr. Droz, the subject of a past goodness story, redesigned and re-colored the original sculpture. As of mid-June, the piece, now called “The Greeting,” stands in front of the museum as an artistic nod toward the connections betweenhuman beings.

good pedal:

At 7:30 a.m. on June 16, there was a small gathering near the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Pennsylvania Chapter on the South Side to send off a group of bicyclists aiming to raise at least $15,000 to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Led by Kevin Lockwood of Hamlin, Pa., who honors

his late mother with the effort, a group of five cyclists pedaled to Scranton over three days. The timing coincides with Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month and The Longest Day, which symbolically uses the longest period of light on June 21 to eradicate the “darkness” of Alzheimer’s disease. To join the team next year or donate, contact Mr. Lockwood KevLock.alz@gmail.com.
