Commemorat­ing the 1971 premiere of “The Homecoming: A Christmas Story,” this 2021 remake of that Depression-era story takes place on Christmas Eve 1933, as a heavy winter storm threatens to keep patriarch John Walton Sr. (Ben Lawson) from getting home to wife Olivia (Bellamy Young) and his large family.

FRIDAY 8 p.m. on HALL Movie: The Most Colorful Time of the Year

Ryan (Christophe­r Russell) is an elementary school teacher, who has been unaware that he is colorblind. Michelle (Katrina Bowden), an optometris­t and mother of one of his students, helps bring color into his life in time for the holidays. SATURDAY

8 p.m. on ESPN Heisman Trophy Ceremony

Once again, QBs are the favorites this year. Last year’s winner, Bryce Young of Alabama, is also in the hunt. A repeat would make Young only the second player to win two Heismans.
