Bruins run latest win streak to 10

Tyler Bertuzzi set up a goal in his Boston debut and Linus Ullmark made 24 saves, helping the NHL-leading Bruins beat the New York Rangers, 4-2, Saturday in Boston.

Charlie Coyle scored off Bertuzzi’s feed and set up Tomas Nosek’s short-handed goal to help Boston win its 10th in a row. The Bruins improved 26-2-3 at home and increased their total for the season to 103 points.

“For us, it’s the Stanley Cup. That’s all that matters,” Ullmark said of the Bruins’ shot at an NHL record for total points. “Records are meant to be broken, but once you have the hardware it can never be taken away from you.”

Boston stars David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron each scored in the third period. It was Pastrnak’s 44th on the season.

Ullmark, meanwhile, improved to 32-4-1.

Islanders 4, Red Wings 1: Anders Lee scored two of New York’s four third-period goals, helping the Islanders win at home. New York improved to 5-2-1 in its past eight games.

Sabres 5, Lightning 3: Rookie Jack Quinn scored in Buffalo’s three-goal second period, and the Sabres beat the the slumping Tampa Bay Lightning in Buffalo, N.Y. The Lightning, coming off a 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins Thursday, are 0-3-1 in their past four. They were outscored 21-11 in the skid.

Capitals 8, Sharks 3: Alex Ovechkin scored twice in the third period to give him 815 career goals and Washington rolled in San Jose, Calif. Rasmus Sandin had three assists in his debut for Washington.

Canucks 4, Maple Leafs 1: Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller scored short-handed goals 44 seconds apart in the third period as Vancouver won at home. Goalie Matt Murray returned for Toronto after missing 17 games with an ankle injury and made 20 saves while taking the loss..

Senators 5, Blue Jackets 2: Travis Hamonic and Tim Stutzle each scored twice and Ottawa won its fifth in a row. Newly acquired Jacob Chychrun had a goal and an assist.
